FAQ

During the application process, students must upload proof of their language proficiency (this does not apply to students in the USA). If you will be studying in English, submit proof of your English language proficiency. If you will be studying in German, submit proof of your German language skills. A confirmation or certificate showing your language skills is sufficient. You do not have to take a specific test or upload a specific certificate (such as TOEFL).

Students who come to TU Dortmund University as part of the Erasmus+ program "Mobility with Partner Countries" (KA107) must complete the Learning Agreement.

TU Dortmund University is also a good host for students who have special needs and provides support! The infrastructure for this is available, as the International Office is well connected with the corresponding institutions within the university and maintains excellent cooperation with external partners (e.g. Studierendenwerk Dortmund, Department of Disability and Studies (DoBuS)).

Disabilities and Studies

There is a central institution at TU Dortmund University that advises students with disabilities and chronic illnesses. This institution is unique in Germany and is called the Department of Disability and Studies (DoBuS).

The International Office and DoBuS help students with disabilities to organize and coordinate their stay abroad in Dortmund, so that they can receive support in advance if they have special needs.

If you have a handicap or chronic illness, we are happy to support you!

Studying with a child/children

TU Dortmund University has a variety of support and counselling services for families and is a member of a network called Best Practice Club "Family in the University".

If you are planning your stay abroad with your child(ren), we will be happy to help you! Unfortunately, experience shows that it is not possible to register at a day care centre or school overnight, so it is recommended to plan ahead.
